Today I gave a try to boondi laddus.Sweets contain high amount of calories,but occassionally we love to have them.Once in a while,its good to actually make them at home.It not only tells you the ingredients but also the effort put in it:-)
Ingredients
besan or gram flour 1 cup
rice flour 2tsp
food colour orange or red
sugar 11/2 cups
baking powder 1/2 tsp
raisins 1/2 cup
cashew 1/2 cup
edible camphor 1 pinch
cardamom 1tsp
salt a pinch
Method
Mix the besan,rice flour,food colour,baking powder together and make a batter.
Fry the raisins, cashew and keep aside.
Place a frying pan with oil and pour the batter upon the oil through a sieve.
Fry the bhoondhis ,and place it on paper towel.
Make a sugar syrup with 1cup of water.boil until it thickens (sticks between the fingers)
Put the bhoondis and the fried raisins ,cashew with the camphor and cardamom powder.
Mix them together.
Shape into laddus when warm.
Bhoondi laddus are ready.
