Momos are a tibetan dish.I used to have it in my college days.I liked them a lot.Everyone at home liked it as there was no oil in it.A filling snack for all and a guilt free one.I usually prepare this with the non veg filling mostly but the veg part is also very tasty.
Ingredients
for the batter
maida 1cup
milk 1/2cup
salt
for the filling
chicken 1 cup( cooked and minced )
eggs 2 or 3
onion 1 chopped
ginger-garlic paste 1 tsp
green chilli 4-5(optional)/chilly sauce 1 tsp
pepper powder 1tsp
soy sauce 1 tsp
salt
oil 3tsp
for the chutney/dip
red chilli dried one 6-7
onion 2 chopped
tomato 4 chopped
brown sugar 2 tsp
vinegar 2tbsp
salt
oil 1tsp
Method
FOR DOUGH-
Make a dough using the maida,salt, and milk.Keep aside covered for1/2hr.
FOR FILLING-
Cook the boneless chicken using pepper powder and salt.Cool it and mince in a mixer.
In the mean time ,place a pan on medium heat.
Pour oil and add onion,saute for 2mts.Add in the ginger-garlic paste ,saute till raw smell disappears.Add the minced meat and stir.
Break two eggs into it and scramble them.
Add the pepper powder.Put off the stove and cool it.Add in the chilly sauce & soy sauce now,mix well.
FOR MAKING-
Now take a small piece of dough and roll the dough into small puri.
Fill the puri with the prepared mixture.
Seal the sides and place it in a plate coated with 1/2tsp oil.
Repeat the same with other balls of dough.
Place the sealed momos into a plate and put it in the pressure cooker or idli cooker.
Steam for about 10-15mts.
Momos are ready.
FOR DIP
Heat oil in a pan & saute onions & garlic cloves till translucent.Add in the red dry chillies & tomatoes.Put off flame.
Grind the ingredients of chutney with brown sugar,salt,vinegar in a mixer until smooth.
Serve the chutney with momos.

TIPS
* Usually the filling is just made by pulsing all the ingredients(esp vegetables ),mixed with sauces and is not cooked.Its directly added in the pouch and is steamed.But somehow am not comfortable that way so saute the other ingredients too.
*Line the plate in the pressure cooker also with some amount of oil.
*You can also prepare veg momos by using cabbage as filling.That also tastes very good.
*You can even combine the cabbage,carrots and egg as filling too.
