EGG PUFFS

Puff / Pastry sheets are readily available in stores and a perfect snack for tea is ready within no time.No much efforts ,simple ,quick recipe.Earlier I had prepared the Ripe plantain puffs, that recipe can be viewed here.Today,I gave the puffs a traditonal touch of India and so prepared the egg puffs.

Ingredients
Puffs /pastry sheets 6 squares
Eggs hard boiled 3 (cut into halves)
onion 1 chopped
coriander powder 1tsp
pepper powder 1 tsp
chaat masala 1/2 tsp (optional)
salt
oil 2 tsp

Method
  • Thaw the pastry sheet as per packet instructions.(I thawed 40 mins)
  • In the mean time place a pan on medium heat and pour oil.
  • Saute onion till light brown ,add all spices and put off the flame.

  • De shell the eggs and cut into longitudinal halves.
  • Take one square piece of pastry sheet place half a spoon of the mix and the egg half.
  • Cover the egg like an envelope with the pastry sheet.
  • Repeat for all sheets.Brush the top with egg white.(for glaze)
  • Pre heat oven to 400 degrees F and line a tray with parchment paper.
  • Place all covered pastry sheets and bake for 15 minutes.
  • Remove from oven and allow it to cool for 2 minutes.
  • Egg puffs are ready to serve.

Serving 6 egg puffs

 TIPS
You can shape it into any desired shapes.
You can also delete the onion sauting step ; and just add the half cut eggs with a gash of pepper powder, chat masala n salt.(much quicker one)
