Thairu Milagu Kondattam | Yogurt Chillies(Microwave Version)

Thairu mulagu kondattam is very renowned in the southern parts of India.I always like it with steamed rice, but never thought that it could be prepared at home until I saw this in Srivalli's space.I thought will make and keep in air tight containers for future use.

But,to my bad luck which then turned to good luck,I should say...You may be wondering why am I telling so.That's because these chillies require a 4 days soaking in buttermilk and the second day itself the sun disappeared for another one week,it was just cloudy and rains..That point made me think of an alternative to sun and I should admit the microwave did the best. So,friends when you require the chillies instantly dried you can opt this method or else the natural source of heat. This is a new innovation to my learning experiments..
The recipe is very simple and you should choose thick skinned firm chillies for this recipe.

Ingredients

green chillies 15-20
buttermilk 3cups
salt 3-4tsp

Method
Wash the green chillies and without removing the stalk, make a slit in the centre so that the buttermilk seeps in.Soak it in buttermilk mixed with salt for 3-4 days.Remove from buttermilk and place it in a microwave safe bowl on the fourth day.Cover the bowl and place it in microwave on high for 10 minutes.Open and flip the chillies on the other side and microwave for 5 minutes.(please check the timing ,it may vary with brands)

You will see the crispy dried chillies, ready to fry.

Servings 20 dried chillies

NOTE
You can also sun dry the chillies after 4 days of soaking.
