One of my favourite cakes is this very marble cake from bakeries.You may ask me why the delay in putting up the recipe?But now only did I develop the art of baking so waited for so long to try this beautiful swirled in cake..and also now is the perfect time with Christmas..

Ingredients
all purpose flour 1 1/2 cups

cocoa powder 2 tbsp
baking powder 1 tsp
baking soda 1 tsp
sugar 1 cup
vegetable oil 1/2 cup
yogurt / curd thick 3/4 cup
milk 50 ml
vanilla extract 1 tsp
salt a pinch
Method
NOTES
* If the batter is very thick adjust with milk.
* Donot over mix the batter other wise you will not get the good marble cake.
* Donot shake the cake tin much after pouring the batter too.

Method
- Pre heat oven to 350 degrees F. Take the curd in a bowl,add salt,sugar and mix till dissolved. Add in the baking powder,baking soda and wait for 2-3 minutes till it starts frothing and bubbles up. Add the oil and vanilla extract to this.
- Sift the flour with baking powder, baking soda twice, keep aside. Pour the wet ingredients into the flour gently without disturbing much and fold it over.
- Divide the batter into two.Add one into the cocoa powder and fold over.Line a 8" pan with butter or cooking spray.Pour the batter into it alternating each one till you finish. Take a fork and then make swirls without disturbing much.
- Place the pan in the oven and bake for 40- 45minutes or till the tooth pick inserted in the centre comes out clean. Cool on a wire rack.Cut slices and serve with tea!!

I recently tried out an eggless cake to make a Zebra cake, but it turned out looking like a marble cake :-) Din't take any pics though as I wanted Zebra n not marble cake , but tasted great.
I'm sure this recipe is a keeper.
