Cilantro / Coriander leaves -Dates Chutney

Today's post is a simple Cilantro Dates Chutney .Chutneys are liked by all especially with the Indian cuisine. That adds some real appetizing flavor to the food. This chutney is a very simple chutney and will be loved by all a real spicy tangy flavor with a sweet touch.Very interesting combo and a real healthy one too !!The bright colour of cilantro brings out a real refreshing taste to our taste buds and dates make it a thick paste. So enjoy this chutney with dosas or idlis..

Ingredients
cilantro 1 bunch
green chillies 2 (as per spice buds)
tamarind 1 gooseberry size
dates 4 pitted
urad dal 1 tsp
chana dal 1 tsp
salt
oil 1 tsp

for seasoning (if required)
mustard 3/4 tsp
dry red chillies 2
curry leaves

Method
Wash and chop the veggies ,keep aside.Dip the dates in warm water for 15minutes.Heat oil in a pan and fry the dals for a minute.Add the chopped veggies and saute for half a minute.Put off the flame, cool down.In the mean time, grind the dates ,salt with tamarind to a thick paste and then add the fried ingredients.Grind again to a smooth paste.Season with the above ingredients  and serve  with idlis /dosas.

Servings a small bowl of chutney

Note
-I have not seasoned the chutney, served it just like that.
-You can replace the dates with jaggery too.
