"HAPPY VALENTINES DAY TO ALL"
Valentine is the perfect time of the year when each one of us munch lots of chocolates and you find the stores heavily packed with chocolate gift packs, and so many vibrant hearts.Who can resist chocolates?? I can't..Kids or adults, dark chocolates or white chocolates; each one of us love chocolates exceptions apart :-) Though calories does matter for all,but how about this healthy version of chocolate with lesser calories. And a worry free one for kids too and if you have kids who don't like dates or almonds then this is a good alternative too.I tried them with raisins and apricots too,as I love the chocolate covered raisins too.A simple preparation of 10 minutes and I bet all will vanish in no time :-)
Ingredients
pitted dates 20
almonds 20
chocolate chips 6 tsp
olive oil /vegetable oil to melt the chocolate chips (Approx 6 tsp)
Method
-Take the dates in a bowl and stuff each one with one almond each.
-Place the chocolate chips ,oil in a bowl and melt it in a microwave safe bowl for a minute.
-Mix the melted chocolate and make it smooth.
-Add the stuffed dates into the bowl, roll and coat them with chocolate.
-Line a tray with parchment paper or wax paper.Spoon each date into the tray once coated and dribble off the excees chocolate.Place each of them slightly apart.
-Place them in the freezer for 2 hours.
-Serve them cool for your Valentine!!
Servings~20 chocolates
NOTES
* You can use honey too in place of oil or you can replace honey with agave nectar as well.
* Keep them refrigerated if at all you have any left over.I had none :-)
* I tried the same with raisins and apricot ,all tasted lovely.
Gift your loved ones & Enjoy !!
