Savory Biscuits | Khara Biscuits (Eggless)

Every one loves the sweet cookies or biscuits but there are many who equally devour the savory version too..I fall among the later category & so love these biscuits more than the sweet ones. These biscuits are real flavorful ones with all spices and herbs.Though I always had these from stores as a kid never thought to try these, but now when I tried these they are much more tastier than the store brought ones. They have a mildly sweet, spicy and salty taste and are crunchy. To all savory biscuit lovers, this is  special treat ,check this out!!

Ingredients
Wheat flour 1/2 cup
all purpose flour 1/2 cup
butter 75gms (3/4 of a stick)
baking soda 1/2 tsp
cilantro 3-4 sprigs chopped small
curry leaves 10-12 leaves chopped small
green chilli 1 or 2 chopped fine (as per tolerance)
milk /water -3 tbsp (milk tastes better)
pepper powder 1/2tsp
fennel seeds 1 tsp
sesame seeds 1 tsp
sugar 2 tsp
salt 1tsp

Method
-Sift the flours together ,add salt, sugar, sesame seeds, pepper powder, fennel seeds, baking soda.Mix well.Soften the butter and add to it.Knead to a dough like bread crumbs.
-Add all the remaining ingredients and knead to a dough as for chapathis.
-Lightly flour the surface and roll the dough in to a big chapati with 1/4 '' thickness.
-Preheat oven to 350 degrees F and line a tray with parchment paper.
-Using a bottle cap or cookie cutters ,cut desired shapes.
-Place each biscuit on the tray and place it in the oven.
-Bake for 15-20mins. Note the lightly browning on the cookies.Cool on wire rack for 10-15minutes  and serve with tea/coffee !!

Servings ~15-20 biscuits

NOTES
* You can use all purpose flour alone too.
*Wait for the cookies to cool down completely otherwise you will not get the crunchy touch.
* You  can add chopped mint leaves and 2tbsp of yogurt instead of milk.
