How to make your own bread crumbs at home ?? | Homemade Bread Crumbs

Bread crumbs are mostly available in stores and then, why make these at home??True, but what do you do of the top layer, bottom layers and the left over 3–4 slices from the bread pack after it's used for breakfast & snacks??If you throw these slices in trash, then this is just meant for you.It hardly takes any time to turn these slices in bread crumbs and use it up in making cutlets, fish fingers, pop corn chicken, nuggets and so on.These are perfect bread crumbs just like the store ones, do use up your leftover slices and make these at home !!

YouTube #shorts on bread crumbs.

Ingredients
bread slices 7-8
Other accessories
cookie sheet/baking tray
blender
strainer

Method
FIRST METHOD-
  • Pre-heat oven to 200 degrees F and place the bread slices arranged in one layer in the clean baking tray.Place it in the oven for 10–15 minutes, remove from oven. Turn all sides and place again for 10 minutes until it's crisp and toasted. Break it in smaller pieces and blend it in a blender. Strain the powder and repeat if there are larger pieces in the strainer. Preserve in airtight containers at room temperature.

SECOND METHOD-
  • Roughly tear the bread slices and add to a blender jar. Run in pulse mode twice to get the fine powder. Heat a non-stick pan and add the mix or spread the coarse powder in a tray and bake in oven @200 degrees F for 10–15 mins. Using a spatula, keep stirring the mix on low flame for 4–5 minutes until it's crisp. If you like very fine powder, add to dry blender jar again and pulse twice. Transfer to clean dry containers and store at room temperature till use.

NOTES
* Don't refrigerate the bread crumbs.Keep in airtight container at room temperature.
* If you wish slightly coarse powder, then pulse the blender 4-5 times without grinding.
* I packed it in my finished store brought tin sometime back.
* You can make using any of the above methods. The second method gives coarsely powdered bread crumbs.

I do this too. Even microwaving bread at 15 sec intervals for a minute will make bread stiff and is good enough to make crumbs
