Spicy Green Chutney & Sweet Tamarind Chutney for Chaats | Chutney for Chaats

Though I had been making this for quite a long time, but I wished to share the chutneys as a separate post as its used invariably with all north Indian snacks like samosa, kachoris, chaats(see recipe link below),sandwiches and so on.Both these chutneys are flavorful in its own way and impart a very good flavor to the food. However, these days you get readymade chutneys in bottles in stores but they do contain preservatives and additives.

Sweet Tamarind Chutney

Making this at home requires no preservatives and hardly requires any much efforts or preparations. These chutneys can be freezed for a long time.If you plan to make larger batches, then its better to pour and freeze in ice trays.Demold them after freezing and keep in ziploc bags.Thaw as required, works good.If you plan to use within two weeks, then refrigeration is also good.Enjoy with chaat & snacks, yumm !!

Dear Julie, I've never prepared or eat chutney and I really like to do it. I don't know which one to chose. Both are delicious and colorful. As we say here in Spain "your pics talk themselves".
The idea of freezing as ice cubes is fantastic. I usually do it with different kind of sauces.
Have a good weekend.
