Mango Avocado Salsa | Easy Dip | No Cooking Recipes

Mangoes are in season and my family is very fond of them.I love this succulent fruit and the best part is that they can be easily incorporated in many easy and quick recipes. This is one such tasty dip that we started loving recently but have made it many times since this mango season.I find this a good way to feed avocado to kids too.Mango adds the sweetness, avocado adds the creaminess and jalapenos for the spice and lemon adds the tartness. This is a quick dip that you can make for parties, potlucks and am sure all would love it.If you stay in a place that has no access to avocados then omit them and try adding a tomato deseeded, works out fine.Do give this a try and enjoy !!

Preparation time~10 minutes
Cooking time~nil
Serves ~a large bowl
Ingredients
mango 1large (cubed small)
avocado 1
jalapeno pepper/green chilly 1 very fine chopped
onion 1 medium sized
cilantro 2tbsp chopped
lemon juice 1/2 of 1
salt to taste

Watch on YouTube  (I have used tomato instead of avocado in the video)-

Method
  • Wash and peel the mangoes, chop it small.Similarly, cut open the avocado and remove the seed by twisting the seed with a knife.Slice the avocados in bite size pieces and scoop out in the bowl.Add in finely chopped jalapenos/green chilly.Throw in the finely chopped onion, cilantro, lemon juice and add salt.Combine all with a spoon and leave to rest for half an hour-1 hour for the flavors to seep in.Serve with chips !!

NOTES
* Increase or decrease jalapenos pepper depending on your tolerance.
* I have used  the Haden variety of mangoes.
* If you stay in a place that has no access to avocados then omit them and try adding a tomato deseeded, works out fine.
* Also you can try adding a small piece of red and green bell peppers chopped very fine which makes the dip colorful and flavorful. My kids are not very fond of bell peppers and so omitted.
