Though yogurt is the result of fermented milk but its much more healthier than milk.Yogurt contains probiotics(for life).Probiotics refers to living organism that results in health benefits to the body.Yogurt contains live(good) bacteria helps to prevent digestive disorders and also boosts immune function.Yogurts also provides a good amount of calcium, vitamin B2,B12,potassium and magnesium.Yogurt can be served daily in the form of smoothies, raitha, parfait, buttermilk and in whichever forms you like.Raitha is a blend of yogurt, spices and fruits/veggies/boondis.I generally make the simple onion tomato raitha or cucumber carrot raitha but occasionally make pomegranate raitha too.
Raithas are so refreshing side with pulao, biriyani. They are similar to south Indian pachadis. They can be made with boondis,a variety of fruits and
veggies.Among fruits,I love the pomegranate raitha as the seeds add a
nice crunch to the raitha. As mangoes are readily available now,so just sneaked in which gave this raitha a right balance of flavors. We served this raitha with my yesterday's post- vegetable pulao.Enjoy making your own fruit raitha that can be served with pulao, biriyani or just like that !!
